Netropolitan: Social Media for the Rich

Netropolitan is a new social media network where the overall entry fee to use it is $9,000. Have you ever sought a social network where you could freely, and without judgment, comment on the finer things in life?

Whelp, you’re in luck, because a new social network has launched for the rich called Netropolitan. And if you are looking to join “The Club”, it will cost you $9,000. Yes, that’s serious. No, this site isn’t a faux network created by the Onion.

The $9,000 is broken up into a $6,000 Initiation Fee and a $3,000 Annual Fee. I think I have that in my sock, easily.

This is quite a deviation from how social networks tend to run, which is usually free and even if there is money involved, you only pay for additional features beyond regular use.

However, this site doesn’t offer any crazy, elaborate services. In fact, the site states, “Please understand that Netropolitan is NOT a concierge service. Our Member Service Associates will not book you a charter jet, or find you tickets to a sold-out Broadway show. They exist solely to help members technically navigate and find their way around the social club.”

So what does your new, $9,000 profile get you?
