Working with a bevy of B2B clients always poses the interesting question of making the industries that we work in like insurance, finance and hospitality more 2.0 friendly. The challenge is that these waters are still new to people and, while social media is expected to take over all media in 2011 (Will reach $61.98 billion to become the nation’s leading ad medium and surpass newspapers), it’s not the go-to solution for most. There’s a lot to understand. A lot to track and maintain. And the ROI is unclear. That said, there is great value in understanding the potential in social platforms before single-handily deciding it’s not right for your client. Others argue that the impressions, genuine consumer connections and conversations are priceless.
