Coming up this Monday and Tuesday, the Chicago New Media Summit '08 is set to commence. These two days, jammed packed with speakers and presenters (who are limited to about 20 minutes each), will consist of the greatest minds in our city collaborating about new ventures in technology, interactive media, social change and the arts--all in an effort to declare Chicago the "New Media Capital of the World." The summit was created by John Patterson, a name you might not recognize, but someone whose efforts have not gone unnoticed. He's responsible for coining Austin, TX, as the "The Arts Capitol of the South." The summit is also taking an active role in implementing new media initiatives for the 2016 Olympic bid.
