Went out in Uptown last night. Dinner and a performance by Nick Lowe at The Green Mill. The sushi review...Agami Sushi & Lounge...it was pretentious, not good, slow, overpriced and overwrought from an interior design standpoint. In short: high on pretense, low on deliverables. Stay away. The music: Nick Lowe performed an incredibly impressive show. Just one man, an acoustic guitar, microphone and some of the best jangley pop songs anyone has penned—all performed effortlessly. “Cruel to be kind” “What’s so funny ‘bout peace love and understanding?” And if you have never seen a performance at the Green Mill, get that of-and-off-again boyfriend of yours to take you. It is one of the best venues in the world, literally. It has been around for over 100 years. Small. Intimate (with the performance I mean). Classic.
