Creative Director

The Creative Director is a member of the senior leadership team and is responsible for leading the creative vision on client business, as well as managing and mentoring the design team. The Creative Director understands the clients’ brands, strategies and business objectives, and leads and manages the design team to translate that strategy into innovative and unexpected creative.

Experience level: 10+ years within agency or marketing department.


  • Inspires and drives overall creative vision for client business, new business opportunities and agency initiatives
  • Translates client strategies and agency insights into innovative creative solutions
  • Oversees the creative process and all creative client deliverables
  • Builds a strong design team with skills and expertise that align with the agency offering
  • Fosters and encourages a fun and collaborative creative environment
  • Mentors the design team and provides growth and development opportunities
  • Anticipates interpersonal issues on team and is able to give and receive constructive feedback
  • Keeps senior leadership team apprised of business wins and stress points
  • Adheres to agency process and works seamlessly across capabilities
  • Understands and monitors trends in digital, content, design and marketing
  • Understands and utilizes client business objectives, brand voices(s), strategies and expectations
  • Leads and supports design team in executing client deliverables and meeting deadlines
  • Collaborates cross discipline to deliver best in class work product
  • Ultimately envisioning and executing brand experiences that delight the user and client, alike.


  • At least 10 years of experience in the creative/digital space with track record of managing a creative team and portfolio that demonstrates it
  • Proven conceptual skills, a critical eye for detail and the ability to translate complex concepts into clear visual representations
  • Good mediation skills necessary to maintain good team chemistry and client relations, and to sort out interpersonal conflicts as they arise
  • Experience building dynamic brand experiences
  • Thorough understanding of information architecture, usability and user-centered design methods, with experience building wireframes, prototypes and information visualizations
  • Willingness to take risks and manage them intelligently
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Communicates ideas and rationales clearly and effectively
  • Can solve creative problems using keen strategic and organizational experience
  • Has handled multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to both delegate and execute creative
